A survey of microbiology including basic concepts of laboratory cultivation and identification,
metabolism, and microbial mechanisms of disease. Pathogenic and nonpathogenic bacteria, fungi, protozoa and
viruses will be discussed. 3 lecture-hours and 2.5 hour laboratory sessions weekly. (every semester)
Prerequisites
A grade of “C” or higher in high school chemistry, and competency in basic math and English skills (as shown
by grades of “C” or higher in ENG 002 and MATH 002, or equivalent)
