The second of a two-course sequence (BIO 103-104) required for biology majors. BIO 104 provides a
detailed comparative study of anatomical organization, physiological functions, development, and reproductive
biology of plants and animals, with emphasis on vascular plants and vertebrates. Students also investigate
ecological interactions and adaptations of organisms, population maintenance, and diversity of biological
communities. 3 lecture hours and one 2.5 hour laboratory session weekly. Laboratory includes plant and animal
dissection. (every spring)
Prerequisites
A grade of āCā or higher in BIO 103, or equivalent.
