Students will gain in-depth experience of net working and telecommunications fundamentals including
LANs, MANs, WANs, intra nets, the Internet, and the WWW. Data communication and telecommunication concepts,
models, standards, and protocols will be studied. Installation, configuration, systems integration and management
of infrastructure technologies will be practiced in the laboratory. This course covers telecommunication
configurations; network and Web applications; distributed systems; wired and wireless architectures, topologies,
and protocols; installation, configuration, and operation of bridges, routers, switches, and gateways; net work
performance tuning; privacy, security, firewalls, reliability; installation and configuretion of networks;
monitoring and management of networks; and communications standards (fall)
