MUS 330: Twentieth-Century Form and Analysis

This course is concerned with compositional techniques and analytical methods in twentieth-century music. The subject is approached from an aesthetic, theoretical, and practical perspective. Students will study a diverse body of musical literature, which begins in the latenineteenth century and concludes with more recent trends in the twenty-first century. Particular attention is given to major composers who are credited with helping to shape the musical landscape of the twentieth-century.
