This course is designed to provide an overview of the issues and topic relevant to the study of crime,
criminals, and the criminal justice system as a continuation of CRIM 110. The course will be broken into the
numerous “subsections” of the CJS, including police, courts, and corrections, in more detail. In addition,
students will learn about rights of the accused, problems of the court system, positive and negative aspects of
alternatives to incarceration as well as the effects of incarceration and expectations for the future of the
Criminal Justice System. (fall, spring)
