Graphic Design Minor

The Minor is designed for students who are not majoring in Art, but want to take Art classes to complement their studies. Students wishing to Minor in Graphic Design need to complete 18 credits in Art as follows:

Required (12 credits)

  • ART-104 Introduction to Computer Graphics
  • ART-246 Computer Graphics: Image
  • ART-247 Computer Graphics: Type
  • ART-248 Computer Graphics: Layout

Elective (choose one, 3 credits)

  • ART-260 Film Video Art
  • ART-265 Animation
  • ART-274 Color and Digital Photography
  • ART-275 IVS: Photograph
  • ART-322 Photography II
  • ART-362 History of Graphic Design
  • ART-364 New Media History
  • Any ART offering

After completing the above five courses, students enroll in the following required capstone course:

  • ART-388 Graphic Design Practicum

Consultation with an Art faculty advisor is recommended.
